1. Introduction
This Policy on the Use of Cookies (the “Cookie Policy”) determines how the Site Owner processes (collects, uses, stores and discloses) information obtained from users on the website teh-intel.ru (the “Site”). This Cookie Policy applies to the Site and to all products and services offered by the Site Owner and contains information, among other things, about cookies and about the use of cookies by the Site and by third parties. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to optimize the operation of the Site and to guarantee maximum convenience for users (the “Users”) by providing personalized interaction with the Site, remembering preferences regarding marketing and Site content, and helping Users obtain the information and targeted offers they need. Information about movements on the Site is recorded, but not information about Site visitors; the User’s personal information is not processed without the User’s consent. This Cookie Policy applies directly to the Site and to the information obtained through it. It does not apply to any other sites and is not applicable to third-party websites that may mention our Site and from which links may be made to the Site, nor to links from this Site to other websites on the Internet. By using the Site, the User confirms their consent to the use of cookies in accordance with the pop-up notification regarding this type of file; otherwise, the User must change the settings of their browser accordingly or refrain from visiting the Site. The Site Owner treats any data provided by the User as confidential information. The implementation of appropriate technical and organizational measures makes it possible to protect the User’s personal data against unauthorized disclosure or access, alteration, misuse, and accidental or unlawful destruction or loss.
2. Information for Users
When any page of the Site is viewed, the Site page is loaded onto the User’s computer together with a small text file called a cookie, which allows the Site Owner to determine whether a particular computer (and, probably, its User) has visited this site before. This happens during a repeat visit to the site by checking the User’s computer for a cookie left over from the previous visit. Any processing of all data received, including but not limited to personal data, is carried out in the territory of the Russian Federation.
2.1. Anonymous use of the Site
The User may visit the Site while remaining anonymous and without disclosing their personal data. On the first visit, the Site will ask for consent to place cookies on the User’s device and to track the User’s behavior while using the Site. If the User does not agree with the practice described above, the User may decline (not give consent). Each browser is unique, so the User should refer to the “Help” function of their browser to find out how to configure cookie settings. Any personal data obtained by the Site in anonymous form (i.e., in a form that cannot be identified with a specific individual and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the User’s identity) are used for statistical purposes and for internal evaluation with a view to improving the Site Owner’s products and services. The data will not be processed for any other purposes or outside the scope of this Cookie Policy, except where expressly permitted or required by applicable law.
2.2. Managing the User’s browser settings relating to cookies
Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. The User may change the browser settings on a particular device to refuse cookies entirely, delete existing cookies from the device, or receive a warning before a cookie is placed. Instructions for configuring browsers are available at www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org. Refusing to accept cookies may affect the convenience of using the Site; certain functions and services will be unavailable to the User. When different devices are used (smartphone, tablet, computer, etc.), the browser on each device must be configured.
3. Information about cookies
A cookie is a small piece of data, often containing a unique anonymous identifier, that is sent by a web server and stored on the hard drive of the User’s device. Each time the web client (usually a web browser) attempts to open a page of the site, it sends this piece of data to the web server as part of an HTTP request. Cookies are widely used by website owners to make websites work or to make them work more efficiently, as well as to obtain analytical information. Some content or applications on the Site, including advertising, may be served by independent third parties. They may place cookies on the User’s device for their own purposes. The Site does not control the tracking technologies used by these third parties or how they may be used, and is not responsible for any actions or policies of third parties. The User can prevent the placement of such third-party cookies and tracking by means of them by adjusting or changing the settings of their browser accordingly. For more information, the User should refer to the instructions for their browser. When the User visits a page with content embedded, for example, from the YouTube or Vimeo websites, these service providers may create their own cookies in the User’s browser. The Site does not control the use of these cookies and cannot access them because of the way cookies work — only the party that originally created them has access to them. More detailed information about these cookies is available on the third parties’ websites.
4. Collection and use of information
Cookies are used for various purposes, including to: make it easier for the Site Owner to obtain information about Users’ visits to the Site; analyze aggregated and other information not related to the identification of individual Users (for example, about the operating system, browser version and the URL from which the User navigated to a given page of the Site, including from an email or an advertisement); analyze information about Users’ page visits in order to improve the Site and the routes by which Users navigate the Site; help the User obtain the information they need; provide personalized content tailored to Users’ interests; determine the number of visitors and how they use the Site in order to improve the Site’s effectiveness and to better understand the interests of the Site’s audience.
5. Cookie retention period
Some cookies are active from the moment the User enters the Site until the end of the particular browser session. When the browser is closed, these files are no longer needed and are deleted automatically. Such cookies are called “session” cookies. Some cookies remain on the device between browser sessions as well — they are not deleted after the browser is closed. Such cookies are called “persistent” cookies. The retention period of persistent cookies on the device differs from cookie to cookie. The Site uses persistent cookies for various purposes: for example, to record how often Users visit the Site and changes in the way the Site is used, as well as to assess the effectiveness of the information posted. Cookies may be placed on the User’s device by the Site administration. These cookies are called “first-party” cookies. Some cookies may be placed on the User’s device by other operators. Such cookies are called “third-party” cookies (see clause 3 of this Cookie Policy).
6. Use of web tracking and cookies
The Site does not use programs to collect personal data or the IP addresses of individuals. Data are used exclusively in an anonymous manner, in aggregated form, for statistical purposes and for the development of the Site. The Site does not create individual profiles of Users’ activities on the Internet. The contents of persistent cookies are limited to an identification number. Names, email addresses, IP addresses, etc. are not stored.
The procedure for processing personal data is described in the Personal Data Processing and Protection Policy. Questions and suggestions may be sent by email to: inbox@teh-intel.ru.
